Lands Office Publishes Boundaries of the Twelve Districts and Announces Survey Programme

The Lands Office of the Velocity Interoperability Network today published the boundaries of the twelve districts into which Network land is divided. Each district is described on the Boundaries page of this site by its principal site, its area in hectares, the number of parcels it contains and the number of boundary markers recorded on its boundary. The twelve districts together cover 48,600 hectares.

The district boundaries were fixed during the transition period from the boundary records transferred by member organisations. Of the 2,318 boundary markers recorded, 1,905 were verified on the ground during the transition. The remaining 413 markers, together with every marker on a boundary between two districts, will be verified under a programme of boundary surveys beginning in the Central District on Monday 14 September 2026. The programme proceeds district by district and is expected to reach the Ridgeway District, the last, on 30 November 2026 and to be complete by 18 December.

Occupiers of land adjoining a district boundary will be notified by email before survey teams enter their district. Anyone who believes a marker to be missing, damaged or wrongly placed is asked to report it to contact@lands.gov.vin, giving the district and the marker number where it is known.
