Lands Office Opens the Land Register and Publishes First Statistical Release

The Lands Office of the Velocity Interoperability Network today opened the Land Register. The Register records every parcel of Network land by district and parcel number, together with its area, its tenure, any lease in force over it and the survey on which its boundaries rest. Extracts from the Register are issued on request by email, normally within ten working days, and are issued without charge during the Office's first year of operation.

The Office also published its first statistical release. At establishment the Register held 6,420 parcels covering 48,600 hectares. Of that area, 27,340 hectares are held in hand by the Network, 12,480 hectares are held under 1,184 leases and 8,780 hectares are reserved for roads, watercourses and common purposes. During the transition period from 10 August to 5 September 2026, 6,420 parcel records and 1,184 leases were transferred, 1,905 boundary markers were verified and 742 boundary enquiries were answered.

The Office will publish statistics quarterly. The next release, covering the quarter ending 30 September 2026, will be published in October.
